Now weāre gonna hear about how the wolves are cooked because they canāt hit the broad side of a barn. Theyāll come out swinging Thursday. I gotta say I was a little disappointed in our physicality tonight. We should have been banging on them more and wearing them down.
Also, whatās up with Ant? He doesnāt look as explosive at all and heās limping when he walks.
For what itās worth, I appreciate all of the people at the game who boo Butler when he gets the ball.
This is our one bad game of the series. Thatās all.
Almost 9:00 AM locally on gameday and there are roughly 500 direct from ticket office seats available in the upper level for tonight's game, and another 75-100 on the lower level. Quit gouging and lower your damn prices - selling out should not be an issue.
Especially when the half the resale market is cheaper than the ticket office.
Bahahahahahahah! Yo SGA - that playoff whistle hits different, huh?!
What a game!
I've seen a couple people post about how our home fans shouldn't boo the Wolves like they did at times last night. I agree, but I'm going to take it a step further. I think it's a bad idea to boo anyone on the Warriors. Here are my reasons:
It can take the focus off of the game for Wolves players. If you're used to your home crowd chanting, "DE-FENCE!" most of the time in the playoffs and now suddenly they're booing when someone on the other team touches the ball...that's likely to take their attention off of the game, at least for a second.
Related to the first reason, why cheer against the opposing team instead of cheering for our team? Use that voice for a "DE-FENCE!" chant. Think about which of those two things is more likely to energize and help the Wolves.
Kinda related to both previous reasons, energy is real and is contagious. When you have a whole arena of people booing the other team and/or wearing "Draymond Sucks" shirts, that's a lot of negative energy out there for anyone to catch a stray. Focusing on the Wolves and cheering and doing positive chants for them would have a much more positive impact on the team. Are you there to cheer on the Wolves or to act out on a personal grudge you've been carrying around for years?
Tied to the last sentence, booing opposing high-lever NBA players almost never works. It's more likely the boo's will fuel them and put a huge chip on their shoulder. We're talking about the ultimate competitors here.
To bring it all back to not booing the Wolves when things aren't going well...if we focus on our squad and positively supporting them, they'll give us less reasons to boo!
Wolves in 5!
Iāll give away the ticket in 20 minutes after I shower. First poster to comment Larriors gets it.
Finch thinks heās a players coach. Kerr is a players coach.
Kerr: Plays deep into rotation. Trusts his guys top to bottom. Gets his older stars good rest during the game so they stay fresh. Holds players accountable when they do stupid shit.
Finch: tight rotation. Doesnāt trust anyone after NAW coming off the bench. Relies heavily on starters playing big minutes. Keeps guys in the game (seems like especially) when theyāre doing stupid shit.
The other thing playing deep into the rotation does is keeps the opponent (us) guessing with whatās coming. Like weāre not game planning for pat Spencer. Having so many different rotations on the floor makes it hard to establish any kind of defensive continuity.
Overall GGs both teams played like shit and not getting that like 3 hours of my life back. Wolves in 5.
Sad awoo.
I actually feel like without Steph the Wolves will underperform.
What do you guys need to see in order to accept criticism of Finch? People were glazing him for beating a bad team with a rookie coach and now they defend him like crazy despite the performance last night. So if even last night doesn't warrant criticism, then what does?
They had 5 days to prepare and home court but showed up with no offensive plan, no discipline, and no energy. They didn't even capitalize on Steph being injured. They stuck with 3s despite having a huge interior advantage and no 3pt success going back to game 5 vs the Lakers.
He didn't call use timeouts to kill their momentum or make any adjustments. He didn't even use a timeout when Naz was struggling to walk and instead forced him to foul for a sub even though he often has foul trouble.
His post game presser had valid criticism of Ant but took no responsibility himself. Its on the coach to set the tone and if the leader of the team isn't matching that tone and energy then you address in in Q1, not after the game
So what do you people need to see in order to think critically about Finch? Does he need to have the wrong number of players on the court and forfeit the game or something?
*Edit to point out not one person has answered the question of what he needs to do to be criticized. But instead focus on bad shooting instead of the lack of adjustment to higher percentage shots

Now I know a lot of people were bashing Julius randle in the subreddit. But me as a New Yorker who's actually a big fan of and Julius this is so bittersweet feeling to seeing Julie's at amazing new heights and I can't wait to see tonight's game for the T wolves and the Golden State Warriors. Never doubted them being the guy needed just depth and help from his previous playoff experiences this guy is the real deal.

Seriously a heartfelt thank you from a bandwagon fan. I do like basketball and I'm a Minnesotan so by default I like the Wolves, but I never watched much.
I jumped on the bandwagon last year during playoffs. I hate to admit that I barely knew the players (except Ant) so that I made nicknames based on looks/clothes to talk about them. So for last year I had things like "little older guy" "looks like a cartoon" "John K." (because he (Gobert) kinda looks like a relative named John K, even though my relative is as white as can be, but something about them....there's a resemblance), "Yellow shoes," "Naz Reid" (needs no nickname, I mean someone in my parent's neighborhood had his name in huge letters on their house).
All that to say I didn't know much.
But following this thread I've learned a ton. Not only players names but more importantly things like what skills they bring, how they balance with other players, who needs to be apologized to by the fandom :) (Randle), who has beef with whom and why etc. Also things like why our matchup with the Lakers worked for us even though they had two superstars. (height advantage, age, deeper bench)
Also, if there is a crazy call or something going on I'm not sure how to analyze I think "Lets go see what r/timbersolves has to say," and sure enough I get some info.
So thank you and Go Wolves!!
Edited to fix spelling of Randle's name lol
Halliburton just hit the game winner and did Sam Cassels big balls dance. I now want a Wolves/Pacers final
Watched you guys played Celtics a fair few times back when I resumed watching NBA last season after a 4 year hiatus ; I had Ant in my Yahoo Fantasy team and knew some lecturers or professors who are University of Minnesota family which made me have a soft spot for you guys apart from KG ; I was impressed with the defensive tenacity and hustle from each one of your players from Ant to Jaylen Clark which reminded me of our team in 2022 under Ime . On the other hand , well done for proving the doubters wrong by knocking the Lakers out in 5 . I'm wishing you guys all the best against the Warriors in this semi finals series . Fuck Jimmy Butler and to close it , Naz Reid to you all
Tip time for Game 1 is set for 8:37 PM CT tonight with up to a 10-minute slide possible. (Via Alan Horton on X)

Why aren't we going deeper into our bench?
I think Finch putting it all on Ant to be more of a leader at the presser was a bit of a cop out.
Yeah energy was lacking all around but Ant didn't settle for jumpshots, he kept attacking the defense. The rest of the team looked lost - the especially on offense. š¤·š¾
But when shots aren't falling pull in some youngsters to take the load off Ant - Reid and McDaniels on defensive assignments and / or let them take some of those tick tack fouls.
TSJr - Minot - Clark and Ingles should get some minutes. Or at the every least TSJr and Minot.
I mean Kerr went 12-13 deep might've been due to them coming off a Game 7, could've been due to currys early exit but I also think it keeps player fresher for the playoffs.
If you got a hot hand lik we had with Rudy last game against the Lakers obviously you play him as much as you can.
But we really need to play more to the matchups better.
You know when we were playing against the rockets, their fanbase was so toxic and disgusting. But timberwolves fans are so respectable and I appreciate y'all being so nice as a team and as a fan. Hope we have a good game and amazing highlights. Goodluck to y'all!!!
Edit 1: actually I take all of this back after the racist fan harassing our player. Not fucking cool.
If your going tonight and want to wear a jersey make sure it's white.

Was thinking of trying to get this off the ground.Ā
Core Proposals:
- Starting lineup hype video must include large graphic warnings of teamās consistent lack of meeting the moment and expectations, or be re-edited to mostly feature various Minnesota Sports Moments(TM), like Favreās NFC INT, Gary Andersonās first missed FG of ā98, all of Kareem Rushās 3ās from Game 6, to set the proper pregame tone. Montage will be scored with the first verse of Radioheadās āCreepā for good atmospherics.Ā
- When Anthony scores less than 2 points in a half, he sends YOU da video.
- Rudy Bobble-hands Night(s). A Rudy bobble-hands figurine for the first 20,000 fans, 27 games out of the year, all other games, for every Rudy bobbling a ball out of bounds or for a TO, you receive your choice of one Tramontina Gourmet pan.
- Offensive rating below 70, the jumbotron displays the incineration of Glen Taylor's chickens, with sound, until offensive rating reaches 85.
- When total team TOs are within 2 of 3PT FG%, free VIP Room access with Crunch, while Chomper watches.
Happy to incorporate other proposals.Ā
Watching last night, you canāt help but feel you were sold a false bill of goods, which unfortunately happens often. Itās time someone finally looks out for us. The time is now.Ā
Wolves in 5.Ā
Cleveland lost, Boston lost, OKC lost...please don't lose tomorrow. š
If anyone at the game tonight wants to get an extra or know where to get a Jaden McDaniels hat, I will pay whatever for it.
Iām not from the cities but happen to be in town tonight and would love to go see the game at a bar with other fans. Are there any places doing a special watch party? If not, whatās consistently the best place to catch a game?
Unsupported media.
View on RedditMy theory: not shooting threes.
Unsupported media.
View on RedditJust straight up didnāt run back on defense the entire night leading to wide open layups and 3ās. Constantly losing his man every time they cut. 3 rebounds?!?! Was guarding Buddy Heild in transaction, you know the guy who had 9 threeās in game 7, and just turned his back to him allowing Buddy to line up a wide open 3. Etc etc etc
So many things to look at from everyone. Did we not practice at all since our Lakers game? Looked tired in the first quarter⦠how is Naw getting minutes over Clark at this point? Nawās shooting it at around 20%, dumb turnovers, and Clark plays better defense.
Can we turn this shit around because thatās one of the worst games Iāve seen from this team all season?

View on RedditLet's go Wolves! Hit 'em hard game 1 and don't let you foot off the gas. We control our own destiny!
The Wolves lost Game 1 against the Warriors by the 3 point shot... Even without Curry for most of the game. Come on! Look, 2 point shots are better than SEVERAL 3 point misses. AN UGLY LOSS! How will the Wolves recover on Thursday?
Causation/correlation much?

āI donāt know anything about what it will be like for him to play against Minnesota. The only experience we had, we played a game in Miami this year, and it did not go very well for us [a 112-86 loss in Miami in late March]. I donāt think it applies here. Jimmy is a gamer. He loves to compete. Heās excited for the series.
āHe has incredible confidence that I think fuels the guys. They believe in him, and they also feel his belief in them. Thatās really important. Heās a great player, one of the best iso[lation] players in the league, so in a playoff game when all else fails you throw the ball to him and he gets you a good shot.ā
Although Iām a diehard Wolves fan, Iām still young ā I never saw them succeed until Jimmy Butlerās stint. But I became a Kyrie superfan around the same time, and heās the reason I got into basketball in the first place. So watching the Celticsā crowd get in his head and watching him disappear in the finals last year honestly pissed me off.
Now, with Jimmy coming back to town, Iād love nothing more than to bask in the chance to give him that same treatment en route to a 2-0 lead and a sweep (or a gentlemanās sweep ā just to run it back one more time).
Unfortunately, the ticket prices for the playoffs are egregious and out of reach for me. So to the fans who will be there:
BOO THIS MAN TO THE MOON!!!
