Frequently asked questions

How is this different from reddit.com?

There are no ads or promoted posts, and you pick the sort. The site is built with Next.js: its server makes every request to Reddit and sends pages already rendered.

Why do I have to sign in?

Reddit ended public access to its API in June 2026. Apps like this one can’t read anything without your Reddit account. Reddit explains how apps get access in its API documentation. If you don’t have an account, register on Reddit.

Is my data safe?

Sign-in uses Reddit’s official OAuth2 flow, so your password never reaches this site. Your access tokens stay in encrypted cookies in your browser, and you can revoke access anytime in your Reddit app settings. The About page lists what the site records.

Is it free?

Yes, and it has no ads. Donations pay for hosting, the domain, and development tools. See how to donate.

Do comments update on their own?

Yes, on a thread sorted by New that is less than two days old. About every 15 seconds, new comments appear above the thread, and so do edits to the post, such as a live score. You can pause it anytime. Game and match threads open sorted by New, and the Active page in the sidebar lists the busiest ones.

Does it support Reddit live threads?

Yes. A link to a Reddit live thread opens in the app, and new updates are added as they are posted. Most game threads are ordinary posts, not live threads, and the live comments above cover those.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works on phones, tablets, and desktops, in light and dark mode.

Can I run my own copy?

Yes. The code is open source on GitHub, and the README lists the setup steps. Create your own app on Reddit’s app page, then add your keys.
