Loved seeing Reece play aggressively down the stretch—but even more impressive was his defense. One block, a couple of poke steals, and multiple tough stops or forced shots (even if not all solo efforts). That stretch was incredible.
We played like absolute garbage for about 70% of the game, got the short end of the whistle, and still managed to pull it out. That’s the mark of a great team.
How Donovan Mitchell wasn’t called for a flagrant is beyond me. I genuinely don’t understand how that isn’t ruled as such. Myles had a solid game overall, but he really needs to bring more in crunch time. He got bullied by Max Strus four or five times in the fourth alone.
Nesmith, Nembhard, and Mathurin have all been huge this postseason—each stepping up when it mattered most. Nesmith especially doesn’t get enough credit. His shot has been lethal and his overall game has grown so much.
Nembhard stepped up big tonight, especially with Reece needing to play off-ball due to the injury. He’s taken a lot of heat, but there’s no way we win this if he didn’t step up like that.
Siakam is due for a big one. It’s coming.
