Bum ass takes. We win two, it’s a fluke. We lose one, it’s proof we trash.
Out of nowhere, Thibs calls you up and says, "Hey, I need you to come in before Game 3 and give an inspirational pep talk to the guys. "
What do you say to them?
After a game like today and what occurred in the last two games albeit the playoffs still ongoing, in a vacuum, who moves would you like to see the Knicks do this offseason? (Players, Coaches, Etc).
NBA pundit’s, analysts, experts, etc except for Brian Windhorst are saying that Game 3 is a MUST WIN for BOTH teams meaning ‘Whoever wins Game 3 of the Celtics-Knicks series, will win it all’
What are your thoughts about this?
Overseas fan here.
Yesterday I was sitting on the street wearing a Knicks shirt, when a woman awkwardly parked a cart full of lottery tickets right next to me. And that made me think.
What would you say to someone who believed that the Knicks are just being lucky?
Guys, guys, listen up for a minute. I know people are saying I am stubborn. They have been saying that every one of the 36, no typo, years I have been coaching. As a head coach I ran off Butler, and never won a thing. I have never won a thing, but listen to me. I know this game. I am the Peter Principle. I fail to exactly the right level. Can get you to the second round, but not past it.
To be fair he did adjust his defense, wow, Tom woke up to switching. It is a thing, read about it. Oh, he does know how to read, right? Sorry. But come on, I cannot be the only one sick of watching an inexplicable, fumbling, bumbling, offense only to watch someone say, "here, two seconds left, you make a shot."
Also Mitch is now in his head. He sucks from the line to be sure, but he missed half the season and is a backup center non skilled player, getting hack a shaqed. He is not this bad but you can see the hitch in his knee and the short follow through. He is way better than this.
As long as it is Tom and Jalen, we are passengers on a ship of fools.
It's mental.

View on RedditI used to be a 2024 team type of guy but this team has won me over.
I want to cop a Josh Hart jersey so badly, but I like the look better than this year’s sponsor
I don't remember them doing this last year (when I was watching at home), but I've destroyed a fair number of brain cells since then.
I've been a Knicks fan since the Houston/Ewing days remembering the Houston buzzer beater and Larry Johnson's 4 point short. Can't forget Van Gundy holding on to Alonzo Mourning's leg. Also, I saw the OJ Simpson car chase on the MSG scoreboard screen run probably for longer than it should of. After that, aside from some bright spots with Carmelo and Lin, the Knicks were hard to watch - but stilled loved them. After bumbled draft picks and getting players that ended up not living up to the hype, it was pure torture being a Knicks fan. With Brunson, Hart and yes Ragu and Randle, I really started to enjoy the games. And when they picked up OG and we had a great run, we were unstoppable. If I could change one thing somehow is to find a way to pay Hartenstein. Hey, love Bridges and KAT and while having the NOVA Knicks is a pipe dream, it was fun. Even my son who wasn't into basketball and my friend who recently moved to NYC is now a new Knicks fan. And hey, beating the Celtics the first game was more than what any Knicks fan would ask for. And when they won the second game, now we want more - even I thought about how we would face the Thunder more than the Celtics (I know, one game at a time). Kind of proud wearing my white Kith Knicks hat. While it's great to even think of a championship, 3 years ago, we were just happy making the playoffs. Thank you Knicks for the being competitive and wanting to assemble a winning team. We fans appreciate that!
Any favorite Knicks memory? Feel free to post here.

Let people that live and die for this team in the building that can’t afford to and block off a lower section for them. Make it loud, make the team accountable. They should have been booed off the court. There will be no changes made before Monday and the same thing will happen.
I thought we would have realized we have to move the ball. Do some split actiin maybe Tom. Every ATO failed. Run an offense. Keep everyone involved involved and get ng touches, then let Brunson be clutch with far more energy.
Mitch has been the most impactful player in this series and Thibs refuses to put him in the game until we’re getting killed. Having Mitch on the court is obviously the best we’ve played in this series. After 3 games he’s +30, while all the starters are in the minus by double digits. I’ve defended Thibs all year but the fact that he refuses to make the necessary adjustments in this series is inexcusable. Why would you continue to stick with a game plan that clearly isn’t working? Why would you give McBride, a 6ft guard, more minutes than Mitch against one of the tallest/longest teams in the league. We got away with that small ball nonsense in the regular season because this team is so talented but it’s not going to fly in the postseason. We invested so much time and confidence in Robinson, stuck with him through his injury because we know how much of a game changer he can be, and he only plays 18 minutes in one of the most important games of the season. Any coach with a brain would be playing him at least 25 minutes a game and there’s a strong argument to be made that he should be starting.
Recommendations?
Knicks could have messed around and went to the finals last season with Randle playing like this… Spanking the C’s along the way!

Seriously, I don't give a crap about how "ridiculous" and "embarassing" he might feel it'd look like.
If Rick Barry, a 5x All-NBA guy and a Finals MVP, wasn't too good for them, neither is Mitch.
Shooting under 30% from the line while the entire team is relying on you is way more embarassing than just taking FTs in an unorthodox way.
Getting paid 15M a year just to actively go out of his way not shoot with the most optimal form. Fucking lol.
Brunson, KAT, OG, Mikal, Hart, Mitch Rob & Deuce McBride are as talented as any top 7 in the NBA. People will disagree but it’s a fundamental truth. It’s the reason the Knicks were pencilled in as contenders before the season started and explains the frustration at an inconsistent regular season (relative to the aforementioned standard). The questions came re. acclimation process and utilisation, and we shifted expectations to Year 2 - it’s coming in the Playoffs of Year 1. Unquestionably special stuff.
The denial of these basic facts explains why people - Boston fans, general media figures, and even some of us - are refusing to talk about what the Knicks have done themselves to comeback in both games and seal two definitively ‘clutch wins’. A collapse from Boston implies a team causing that collapse, never forget that.
We’ve entered this bizarre world where the final 6 minutes of the 2nd quarter and first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter - where Boston built both 20 point leads - are deemed to be more important than the final 15-18 minutes where the Knicks went on +21 runs. The contrast of those 2 (or 4, since we are dealing with 2 games) events explains why the Knicks are up 2-0. Considering all the obsession with how a team/player closes, clutch/crunch time, and 4th quarter performance more generally, how can this even be downplayed without some element of dismissal (if not hate)?
Constant talk about Boston missed looks - they’re missing from everywhere, and the Knicks defense should be mentioned here - as though the Knicks have played perfectly. I’d understand if we played excellent basketball, while Boston were terrible, and these games went to 1 possession wins (a la Miami vs Boston 2023). But as Brunson and some others have said, we have been awful in the first 30-33 minutes, we can be so much better.
But that team, which can be so much better, is also up 2-0. Conventional wisdom should tell us that the team which has played imperfectly but has won should receive the credit in the bank. Yet somehow we’ve not received any of that talk. As though they’re hoping for the Knicks to be fraudulent.
It can happen, Boston can win this, it’s far from over (all I’m doing here is stating the obvious). But until it happens, I don’t know why the Knicks are not receiving their appropriate credit for being the first team in NBA history to pull off consecutive 20 point comeback Playoff wins - and we did this in the opening two games on the road against the defending champions. Defending champions who have been favourites to repeat all year, and were heavy favourites to wrap up this series quickly.
Been smiling all fuckin day man
