Let’s all stop and take a deep breath here.
Yes, we are down 25 in game 3.
This is Celtics team that won 61 games during the regular season.
We literally stole 2 on their home court the last two.
People have been calling for Thibs head, talking smack amount Jalen, complaining about Hart, Bridges, Towns whoever.
This game was bound to happen.
Had the roles been reversed, 95% of us would be screaming that if we didn’t come out desperate for this game, we might as well go home.
The Celtics came out and did exactly what I would expect a team that is down 0-2 ro do. They have punched the Knicks in the mouth.
Many doubted this team in round one and were wrong.
Many said if we didn’t win a game or two in this series, Thibs should be boiled for fat.
Guess what?
We have won two games.
Which was more than most of us thought we would do.
This living on the edge mentality has to go.
Bridges saved the last two games.
Give him some grace for crying out loud.
Let’s enjoy the ride for what it is.
it’s gon be a tough series but we up 2-1 and maybe thibs won’t change the offense but will go straight to the double big lineup
Knicks in 4.
5 Knicks ranked in the Top 50 by ESPN.:
Hart - 42 Bridges - 39 OG - 25 KAT - 12 Jalen - 10
Jalen should be ranked even better but all in all this is a lot of respect for the Knicks.
If we win today it has to be a jersey thing. We’re wearing the whites today, we haven’t lost a game in the playoffs in those, we also haven’t lost in the royal blues
Whites: G1 Det, G2 Boston
Royal Blues: G3 Det, G4 Det, G6 Det, G1 Boston
Any other Jersey should be banished!
Yo do anyone remember playing a game called Utah in the park in any borough growing up? My older cousin (41) is from Brooklyn and says they used to play this over 21. I've never heard of it
got a flight in the evening at LGA. Anyone know where I can watch the Knicks while I wait

View on RedditAs the title says, games 3 & 4 at the garden we have the opportunity to show a guy who gives his all every time he’s out there some support when he heads to the free throw line. Free throws under pressure are one of the hardest things to do. So let’s do what we can to help Mitch out each time he gets to that line! And make Boston regret to try and hack a Robinson. Let’s go Knicks baby!!
In the why is Tatum not going to the basket? I've been listening to just about every pundit show talking about all the reasons the Celtics will be winning game 3. They keep asking for Tatum to just drive it, like he could get efficient shots against OG any time. Nothing I've seen from Tatum, maybe ever, tells me that would be the case.
With a W today, Knicks will put a stranglehold on this series. Very well could lock up a trip to the ECF with a W this afternoon. Haven’t been able to say that in decades. Can’t imagine how through the roof it’s going to be at the Garden. Kudos to those with tickets. Represent like no other!
NYC made the NBA what it is today. Rucker Park, Each 1 Teach 1, Bronx Gauchos, Riverside Church, Dyckman Park. Knicks represent us, but in actuality the lifeblood of NYC basketball has always been the street ballers. Guys like me, my uncle and thousands before me.
Show them love today!
LETS GO KNICKS!
Who is this guy? I see him all the time at games
So stoked that we up 2-0 going to The Garden, The Real Garden. But man, I just know Tatum and the Celtics taking this shit personally right now. Series ain’t over, we gotta act like we’re the ones down 2-0 in the series. Don’t put your foot off the pedal. LGK!
As long as I get to 4 FIRST
I’m torn between watching game three in the comforts of my apartment, hitting up a bar, or actually hopping in the A train down to outside of MSG for this block party. Anyone been to the past block parties this playoffs? Is it worth it, or better to just find a bar that plays the game with sound? Also wondering if I need to leave basically now if I want any view of the screens lol.
We know everyone and their mother in the NBA will guard Hart as a non shooter, and probably with a big. We also know that Hart will crash the offensive glass and come up with some key offensive rebounds.
I do wonder if teams will opt to change this strategy knowing you cannot just ‘keep an eye’ on a guy that you’re giving an open lane to attack the glass. You can keep an eye on him but he’s grabbing that rebound if there isn’t a body on him, which this ‘strategy’ doesn’t allow for.
I ask because in game 1 and game 2, while Hart was still guarded by a big (at times), it was noticeable that he wasn’t treated like a complete non-shooter down the stretch. I think it’s a combination of some key threes and offensive rebounds he pulled off in the +21 runs. And perhaps it explains why our offense was noticeably and relatively good down the stretch. Part of why Brunson was able to get Horford on the switch late in game 1 was because Horford was guarding KAT (i.e. no longer guarding Hart and we could run straight Brunson-KAT P&R - you’d better switch or KAT is getting an open rim opportunity or three); and part of why Horford/Holiday did everything not to switch in gm2 but also not to double Brunson (Horford would position himself back on Hart) is because they stopped treating Hart as a non threat.
Also noticeable to me - and definitely something different to most of the season - is that we positioned Hart in the dunkers spot more often and had KAT out top (this is my way of saying the great Tom Thibodeau is Playoff rising).
This series is far from over, this is stating the obvious of course. But I’m intrigued to hypothesise about a potential ECF and wonder if Atkinson/Carlisle would guard Hart as a non-shooter with their bigs or if they’re paying attention. Either way, this is opening up so much for the Knicks offense late in games. Still can’t believe how much space Brunson had to fully isolate on the go-ahead FG vs Jrue to put us up 87-86. And none of it happens if Josh Hart doesn’t make his threes and bludgeon the offensive glass (as our Josh always does).
Let people that live and die for this team in the building that can’t afford to and block off a lower section for them. Make it loud, make the team accountable. They should have been booed off the court. There will be no changes made before Monday and the same thing will happen.

If we are going to play Mitch, wouldn’t it make the most sense to play him at the start of every quarter?
If the Celtics want to hack a Mitch, make them foul him a ton at the start of the quarter.
Putting him in halfway through a quarter just enables the strategy. Seems pretty straightforward to me - I know Thibs doesn’t like to change things but this is OBVIOUS
For full disclosure I'm a Thibs guy. These 'fire Thibs and replace him with an unproven college/assistant coach' people are idiots in my mind.
So I'm wondering could the Thibsmeister have been lulling Boston into cockiness by playing drop coverage all year even though KAT can't play it and then revealing our wonderful switching/walling up D that messed them up (no, they didn't just miss shots).
Or am I overthinking it and it was just Mitch was out?
I am obviously just distracting myself because I cannot handle the half hour wait. LFGK!
We played entitled and soft with zero aggression from the get-go….
This is on Thibs… and I am not a Thibs hater.
Someone told this team to play loose. That was a huge mistake. someone told this team to play “ your game”… that was a huge mistake.
They need to come out Monday, awnery and tight and wired and angry. They are fighting an injured giant and they need to throw everything and the kitchen sink at it.
We should stop playing help defense and be more focused on 1 on 1 defense because once we go to help there’s going to be someone wide open for three and Boston is too dangerous to be left wide open and man don’t get me started on the drop coverage
