OKR is the heavy favorite for tonight’s game, what’s everyone’s thoughts?
Jokic was +10 in 42 minutes and the nuggets were -8 for the 6 minutes he sat. Pretty common theme for nuggets fans
Shai was -16 in 40 minutes he played so the thunder were +14 in the 8 minutes he sat
Not looking to much into it because it's an anomaly on how the thunders season has went just thought it was a strange stat
Pretty straightforward question I have been asking myself and kinda surprised I haven't seen anybody else talking about it or mentioning it.... Possibly getting overshadowed by the missed free throws but to summarize the situation:
OKC Inbounding with 12.9 on the clock, up 1 point
SGA gets free (Braun is in fairly close pursuit) going to the hoop dunking it leaving 11.1 on the clock and giving OKC a 3-point lead to continue their foul strategy
My first thought when it happened was that he should have just dribbled it out and ran the clock down as much as possible before inevitably going to the free throw line or time running out. Instead he goes for the immediate dunk, and, in my opinion, leaves the Nuggets with some hope and an opportunity. The nuggets capitalize and take the win.
Am I wrong about this being a poor decision on SGA's part? Quite honestly I don't see how the dunk is ever the correct decision here but I want to know what others think.
Well title says it all
Just a quick rant: I've watched a bunch of reactions to last night's win. Yeah, they are impressed with Jokić. Dude had a 40/20 game, but that's just normal from him nowadays, isn't it?
The overwhelming narrative I'm hearing is how OKC choked. Yes, they managed the last 13 seconds poorly. And yes, Chet gagged on a pair of freebies. But for the previous 47:47, OKC played basically a perfect game. They have terrific personnel, well coached, very tough, and they knew just what to do the whole time. They got bucket after bucket after bucket, every time Denver tried to push 'em. It was a terrific performance against a tried and true championship team. J Dub was bad offensively. Chet got bodied. But they had a plan, they executed that plan. They led for basically the whole game. The Thunder kept scoring points steadily for the entire game! The last 13 seconds was a shame for them. Chet gotta be better, or OKC is fool's gold straight up.
The part that pisses me off is that talking about an OKC choke job really undersells the basic fact of this game: the Denver Nuggets have the heart of a lion. These freaking guys, top to bottom, are fucking soldiers. They could have let go of the rope so many times, and they just never did. They'd get that lead down to single digits and then-bam-back up to 12 or 13 or 14. It was a long, hard road to get that one down to a winnable game. They were amazing last night. The fact that OKC mismanaged the last few moments was the last tiny bit that Denver needed to win the game. But without the superhuman effort for 3 and a half quarters, holding on for dear life, landing blows when they could: they don't even get to that point. They could have lost this game by 20. Or 30.
So fuck this narrative about OKC choking. Denver won that game with hustle and intelligence and an absolute refusal to give up. What a difference from like a month ago.
Hey family,
Just wondering with how quickly this game snowballed out of control, why were the starters kept in for so long given the fact y’all already stole home court advantage? Looking forward to seeing yall take care of this series and go onto win it all. Rooting for Jokic and Russ.
Pressure is on the Nuggs even coming home 1-1 right? Two games at home tho 👀
It's extremely important for Denver to give Dort the Dunn treatment. It disrupts the flow of the offense.
It makes Shai think twice before attacking.
When Denver ran the zone, Shai just feasted. He went 100% FG and FT in 1st and 3rd quarter.
Now imagine whoever guards Dort is cheating off him constantly.
The issue is that MPJ is the one playing free safety and he only has one arm to defend with.
I guess long story short. Adelman needs to decide if MPJ can actually play defense with one arm.
If he cannot play defense, he has to be benched.
What games are you going to win when the other team breaks playoff records for half time scores?
I hope that Denver really take advantage of this. They are scared of Denver being so much bigger and stronger that they don't believe that even if they can get one stop, that doesn't matter cause Denver could just rebound for a put back or a reset. IF, a big IF we're going back home up 2-0 they won't be coming back to Oklahoma.

Another impactful night for Russ and Mal is going to show up BIG🏔️🏀 LFG
In the Clippers series, we were having Jokic hang out around the 3pt line and initiate his own offense from there because this gave him more room to operate. Anytime he caught in the post, Zubac guarded him well and he was surrounded by 3-4 Clippers.
Why are we not doing the same thing in this series? He's getting swarmed everytime.
Is it just me or did it seem like the referees were part of the OKC Thunder team in the May 7 playoff game with the Nuggets?
Has anyone got Joker 1 signature shoes?
They look frikin cool! (at least in Europe)
Dicks got Murray jerseys at 50% off right now (https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/nike-adult-2024-25-city-edition-denver-nuggets-jamal-murray-27-jersey-24nikmnbnggtswhtmden/24nikmnbnggtswhtmden)!
Do y’all know if they randomly do this for a rotation of players? Been looking to get my hands on a Westbrook or AG jersey and will wait if they may hit that deal soon!
At the moment Jokić fouls out the nuggets have been called for 25 fouls to 13 for OKC. These refs should be investigated to make sure they aren’t betting on the games. In all seriousness what the actual fuck?
1 Russ 2 Murray 3 AG 4 Jokic 5 DJ (at true center for boards and rim protection)
If OKC runs two bigs, Nuggs should run two bigs to help Jok out down low.
Braun, MPJ, Watson, Strawther, & Zeke off the bench.
Nuggets in 6!
Edit: AG at the 3, and Braun off the bench
Announcers are biased as ever like last game. Where can I watch or listen for free of games being played where the announcers aren’t against the nuggets 24/7?
From the 4OT game against the Blazers in this iteration of the Nuggets' first playoff appearance, to the two 3-1 comebacks we had in the bubble, the whole 2023 run, the two Jamal Murray buzzerbeaters against the Lakers last year, to now AG hitting the closest imaginable buzzer beater dunk and now this. Playoff Nuggets ball is simply unmatched in terms of entertainment and unforgettable moments.
I have never had my team in any sport provide me as much joy and excitement as the Denver Nuggets. Thank you for the 2023 chip because this shit is all gravy from here on out.
Any super fans in this group show up at the airport and scream at them how much we still love them and appreciate stealing one on the road?? The nba championship takes 16 wins against the best players/teams in the world and I believe the tournament reveals the best overall basketball team (which every year has a top five player except 2004 pistons) The nuggets are very much still in the tournament and I’m looking forward to game three at home as are the players 😂 I think they are mentally already on the plane ride home
I don’t think there is a single center left in the playoffs who can defend Jokic like Zubac did, yes the who knows how many times DPOY Rudy Gobert is still in the playoffs but Jokic has a tendency to make that matchup his feast, only team that I can say might have a center that will make Jokic work hard are the Cavs, but them losing both home court games who knows if they will survive this round, this is a hypothetical question because the OKC series hasn’t been won yet but it’s just something I’ve been thinking about

I thought the olympics ended months ago. Feels like Serbia’s shooters got worse too
Let's just get out this game healthy 😭 1-1 our gym Friday!
hey. I bought tickets to game 3 right after game 1 cuz that sh*t was cinema. no comment on how this one is going lmao. (un?)fortunately(?) Ive just received word that my uncle is getting released from prison friday, and I think itd be better to spend that time w my family. I want these tix to go to an actual fan and not a scalper so my first thought was to come here. the tix are in the upper bowl and were like 150 a piece. i found a site where we can exchange the tix securely and im also happy to send whatever further proof or confirmation you need. God bless and GO NUGGGGS
also: i just checked and the other tickets in my section range from $160 to $210 on ticketmaster. really want another fan to avoid the upcharge, which i imagine will keep going up the closer it gets to gameday.
Aaron Gordan is not only a great player but an amazing human being. He embodies everything a roll model and leader of men should be. After going to his free meet and greet last year I was stunned. He took the time to sit down on the his couch and talk to each fan and make each person feel seen. He signed items for free and took as many photos as you wanted. He meet and greeted with fans for over 8 hours for free. He was the most kind, genuine, and down to earth person I have ever met. He left a lasting impact on me and my family that day and made us feel special. Not only that but you hear nothing but good things about the guy. Even hearing Jokic saying how good of friend he is and that he showed up to Serbia to see him. With everything he has gone through he continues to thrive and be a positive. AG is The Human. I think I speak for all of Denver when I say I will always be in this mandatory corner.
