I saw a recent post about this. People were wondering if Abe was still a WWII vet since the floating timeline would seem to make this harder to work. The most recent episode "Abe League of Their Moe", starts with a flashback to 1944 with young Abe, possibly around Lisa's age, at a baseball game.
That's pretty much where the change is. Not possible for him to be a WWII vet, UNLESS the scene of Abe as an 8-year old WWI vet from Special Edna could be retconned to young Abe fighting in WWII.
I know the writers likely don't put this amount of thought into the show. Just something I thought was worth noting.

View on RedditTbh I can’t remember the season or anything but there is a scene, very short in which Marge and Homer are in bed, Homer is sleeping and Marge is talking to Homer but he just farts in response a couple of times? I thought it was hilarious and I can’t find it anywhere. I think she eventually gets mad after two or three farts and he wakes up. Sooo random I know but can anyone recognize that scene and know which episode it is in? Thanks!
Yes it was a stupid idea, but the episode has objectively great jokes in it, and I'm perfectly fine with the explanation that it was a one-off and not canon.
For me it would be:
Happy Birthday Lisa.
I’m Talking Springfield.
And Simpsons Christmas Boogie.
I don’t have none actually but it’s cool if you do.
I don’t mind.
... or is it just spookily predictive beyond belief?
I just watched for the first time the Elon Musk Simpsons episode (S26 E12). I thought it had been put out this month as very current satirical comment on the current Felon 47 shitshow going on across the pond because of:
-Elon's hare brained inventions and financial schemes with Mr Burns turning out to have cost Burns, his company and crashing the Springfield economy
-Montage of the Great Depression, repeated today
-a powerpoint slide show which is "accidentally" pulled down on stage. The slides say this:
"NO UPSIDE FOR YEARS"
"MAKES NO FINANCIAL SENSE BUT IT'S COOL"
"A TERRIBLE SACRIFICE NOW"
"THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS WILL APPRECIATE"
And an image of Mr Burn's dollars flying away.
Burns is horrified, he thought Musk would make him a tonne of money. He accuses Musk of tricking him.
Musk says: "No. We sacrifice now, to take care of the future. in a way totally determined by me".
Plus
- opening scenes symbolism of the American Eagle attacking other birds, and then being beaten and trapped in a black trash bag
- Lisa saying "maybe we can save him"
-Homer then saying, "give him a name. MAKE IT GREAT. INSANELY, UNBELIEVABLY GREAT"
-Musk's rocket decimating the American Eagle
& lots of other things.
Only afterwards did I realise this was made 10 years ago in 2015.
I thought maybe they may have stealth put out those slides in 2025 as they are shown super-quick, but realistically if the Simpsons wanted to satirise / condemn the US presidency they'd surely just do it and put out a brand new episode.
PS if there is any scathing Donald Trump satire in The Simpsons / South Park, please link as I used to love those shows as a teen and I'm out of the loop.

View on RedditSo Homer builds a bunker inside his basement and keeps a lot of food in there. He is scared of an electric catastrophe and also joins a weird survival group. Later in the episode it really looks like something’s wrong and the whole family drives to the camp. Bart makes friends with a rice bag and doesn’t care about its color. In the end everything’s okay again. So does anyone know what this episode is called? (Sorry for the bad description)
“Well, sir, I’ll be honest with you, I need a large African elephant and I need one today” “ This is a large African elephant” “ Well you see it is and it ain’t”
(I use that last line often)
i like my new neighbor.
I've been waiting 28 years and counting, but I need an episode that finally explains that Armin Tamzarian is in fact Seymour Skinner and that they were switched at birth.
It would also be nice to have an episode that doesn't revolve around a "celebrity", because I miss the days when Michael Sheen or Michelle Pfeiffer would play actual characters.
If an episode of The Simpsons from the 90's was animated using 2025's technique and even if the audio was matched or in some replaces, revoiced...how would that episode rate in quality against a brand new one?
I know a lot of people reject the early episodes because of the debatable lack of visual quality, but I do think the reason it's lasted 40 years, is because it was so well written.

View on RedditYellow Planet is the first new Simpsons I’ve watched in awhile and I absolutely cannot deal with how terrible Marge and Flanders sound now. What happened? Different actors? Did the actors have vocal cord surgery that went horribly wrong?
like +85% of simpsons predictions are people not looking up the airdates of each episode and being gullible believing when someone says "this incident happened after the episode" when really the incident happened first and the episode is just a parody
I don’t have a least favourite but it’s cool if you guys do.
I'd probably go with when Homer had to drive bart to a camp for punishment, his Do'h was heard all the way across town
Please allow me to rant for a minute. It’s a great episode but the reasons they go back to Springfield are so dumb because they didn’t even try to fix them. There are simple solutions:
-Lisa can try allergy medicine.
-Bart can get a tutor. Or, better yet, Marge can homeschool him. He’s responded very well to homeschooling.
-Marge can homeschool or get a hobby. Take Maggie out for a walk and meet people. Learn to cook better if you’re still serving boiled cabbage.
-Maggie can refuse the swing. She is more than capable of making it clear when she doesn’t like something. It’s not like they’re just going to throw out the swing when they move back.
Homer was happy and good at his job. They didn’t even try to fix the problems before they made him give up his happiness.
Could it have been written better to address these issues? I don’t know. The status quo needs to be reset every episode. I’m just annoyed. Thanks for listening.

What was the lesson in Season 30 Episode 19 “Girl’s in the Band,” again?
